Here are the favorites for this week! Quickly trying to post this before I hope on the plane to Pittsburg! Holla!
Enjoy!
10. Pins
My best friend collects buttons and I think it’s awesome. Plus if they’re funny or pop-culturey, who wouldn’t want them. I’m thinking about getting a denim backpack and just covering it with buttons. Then I’ll have little dots of the things I like and I think are funny with me all of the time.
Like Jared's backpack:
9. Cotton Candy Hair
I’m not sure if that’s actually what it’s called, but that’s what I choose to call it because it’s amazing. I wish I had the guts to do this and the look to pull it off because if I had either of those things, my hair would be sick. To think that I used to judge people with crazy hair when I was younger, seems so silly. They’re awesome and clearly on another level.
8. Patched Denim
OMG. I love it so much. Who would have thought that a denim jacket covered in patches could be fashionable in a non motorcycle-chick way! Plus the pants with the sassy patches are unreal. Aside from being gorgeous pieces are so easily DIY-able and all you need is an old denim jacket or loose-fitting pair of pants and a saucy patch collection. Boom, fab new statement piece for your wardrobe.
7. See Through Bags
Yasssss. I love, love, love these. I wouldn’t get a see-through tote, because those tend to get kind of messy, but a little see-through satchel or clutch would be manageable. Get a fluorescent wallet, a cute pair of sunglasses, and a colorful lipgloss and you are rocking that see-through bag!
6. Cats Against Cat Calls
This really doesn’t need much explanation.. except that I bought it and plan on wearing it loud and proud… preferably at a Robin Thicke protest. Gurls rulee.
5. Red Bubble
I don’t remember how I came across this site, but it’s super cool. Basically, all of the little funny says and drawings you see on Tumblr have been turned into graphics that can be found on T-shirts, iPhone cases, stickers, etc. It’s honestly a dream come true and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t spend $30 on stickers. It’s sooooo worth it though! My laptop is covered with the things I love now! So check them out because everything is beautiful and people deserve to be praised for their incredible talents.
4. Frida Kahlo Socks
I’ve never wanted a pair of socks more in my life. Frida Kahlo is an inspiration and the fact that you can appreciate her in a campy, weird way is awesome! I can’t decide whether I enjoy the red or the yellow ones better, but when I do get a part of these, I’m going to throw them under my black Jujus and frolic around my school. Holla.
3. The Virgin Suicides
This is Tavi Gevinson’s favorite movie, so obviously I had to check it out. It’s nothing like I expected, in a good way! It’s basically about this family with five daughters in the 70s and it’s told from the boy across the street’s point of view (whom you will fall in love with. SO cute.). It’s kind of eerie and creepy but Sophia Coppola does a magnificent job of capturing the time period while cleverly guiding you through the story. The movie is based on a book by Jeffery Eugenides. It’s the next book on my list! If the movie was this incredible, imagine how great the book will be!!
2. "Do I Wanna Know?" - Arctic Monkeys
This band is amazing. Like actually one of the most talented bands of our time. This song basically says it all. Their music has this vibe about it that instantly makes you want to wear black and be a total badass.
Have a listen!
1. Overall Shorts
I’m lucky enough to FINALLY own a pair of these! The dream would have been to walk into a thrift store and see an old pair of overalls nonchalantly hanging on a rack.. but that’s basically impossible in New Hampshire. I have tried SO hard with no avail. So I went to the next best thing: Etsy! What a fab website. It has a little bit of everything, whether I need a pair of earrings or a phone case, Etsy has it! So I found these adorable overall shorts with daises on them with little faces. I wore them during Sprit Week at school to be a true 90s girl on way back Wednesday. They rocked. So get a pair and enjoy the liberation that comes with wearing such a stylish and timeless article of clothing.
Much love! <3
