Friday Favorites: From Lupita Nyong'o to She's the Man

Hello!! Welcome to this week's Friday Favorites! You're going to love them this week. Some cool things to share! Sorry these are exceptionally late; had some technical difficulties!

Here you go:

Number 10: Daisy Print

AHHH always a great option. Daisy print is so in right now and it’s Brandy Melville’s and LF’s favorite little pop. Along with daisy print comes sunflower print and it’s equally as wonderful, so you really can’t go wrong. My friend Abbey has a pair of daisy leggings from Pacsun and they’re so cute paired with an oversized sweater and black docs. Daisies are so glorious.

Number 9: Stickers

I recently found a little stationary store that had rolls and rolls of sweet little stickers that are adorable and totally necessary for journals and letters. So it’s safe to say that I got an extreme amount of stickers and I am beyond excited to stick them in my photo journal and on future mix tapes.

8. Embroidery

Embroidery always seemed like some old fashion art form my nana did to pass time, but tumblr girls have changed the norm. They rock. Basically these amazing women have taken nana’s favorite pastime and changed it into a relatable and pop culture conscious art form. The work these girls have done is truly brilliant and it’s not wonder these beautiful pieces are popping up more and more all over the internet.

7. Little Urban Outfitters Shoes

My loves. I now own three pairs of these shoes and it was possibly one of the best comfort/fashion choices I’ve ever made. First off, they’re so tiny and sweet and funky and lovely. Second, they are so comfortable and you feel like you’re walking in a meadow of green in the
Irish hills. So comfy. They’re also the ultimate flats and you don’t have to worry about slipping on them because the bottoms aren’t slick like your average flat. They also come in a variety of patterns and colors and you can get them withT-straps or Maryjane style. They’re also the cheapest and sometimes they run a two for $20 deal and it’s SO worth it.

6. Eye Studs

YAAASSSS. Eyes. Who doesn’t love a good eye accent. This is the perfect one. They’re subtle but sketchy at the same time and allow you to have a fab outfit without the eyes totally taking control. So if you’re not ready to go full on eye print clothes, eye earrings are a good gateway choice.

5. Watermelon Shorts

Ugh. So much love for this beautiful shorts. It’s not summer yet, but they are the perfect summer short: they’re high waisted (perfect for crop topping) and vibrant in every way. They’re also a advertising the best fruit and food in the entire world. For real. If I was stranded on a deserted island, I would want a lifetime supply of watermelon, a knife to cut them in half, and a spoon to eat it with. I would be so happy for the rest of my life. At this point, watermelon is synonymous with true love and wearing these shorts would be like being in love. Sounds good to me!

4. Lupita

This woman is flawless. She is beautiful inside and out. And her dress at the Oscars was the most beautiful thing that has ever been crafted from fabric. The world loves Lupita.

3. Mix CDs

Who doesn't love a good mix CD? Who wouldn’t want to receive an album of music just for them? No one. EVERYONE should and does love mix CDs. What’s not to love! They’re personalized and sweet and another human being is introducing you to music that moves their soul, in hopes that your soul will connect with it too. When people make mixes that have sweet phrases written on them my heart smiles. It’s so personal and I honestly think it’s one of the best gifts you can ever give someone.

You have to love it when Ashton Kutcher makes Natalie Portman a mix CD in No Strings Attached. Holla.

2. Kale Smoothies

I used to think these were so gross but now that I tried them.. OMG. Amazing. They look ratch but once you get over the green color the taste is life changing. The cool thing about them is you can literally put whatever you want in it.. including kale of course! I usually put a banana, strawberries, blueberries, a green apple, orange, a dash of ground flax seed, and kale in mine. It’s basically a meal and is the great start to any day.

1. She's the Man

I’ve been going through a period of time where the Amanda Bynes nostalgia is REAL. She’s the man is not only Amanda’s best movie.. but it’s also one of the best movies ever created. Not only is the man who plays Tobias in Arrested Development in it.. but Channing Tatum is also an absolute BABE. Also, you really can’t go wrong with a bunch of attractive men playing soccer and Channing Tatum being a goof. Let’s get real. This movie is a classic.

Hope you enjoyed this week's selection! I'd like to leave you with a quote that's really dear to my heart and will hopefully impact you in some way.

"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it." -Roald Dahl

Much love! <3
